From Hungary we tried to cross into the Ukraine. We were at the border for 4 hours trying to explain that our temporary paperwork was legitimate, to no avail. Towards the end the border guard pulled me aside and said that I could pass for a "refundable" fee of $4,000. We opted to try another border instead.
