Ed and I arrived in the night, rented a car, and headed straight for the famous Geysir waterfall. Here is a sign warning that the water is actually boiling when it comes out of the ground! Last comment 05/15/22.

After we arrived we were told that Geysir no longer erupts regularly but nearby Strokkur is one of the most consistent geysers in the world, erupting every 4-8 minutes. Last comment 04/19/22.

Just up the road from Geysir and Strokkur is the amazing Gullfoss waterfall. Last comment 04/25/15.

The spray from the waterfall turned this viewing area into a sheet of ice - walking was treacherous! Last comment 10/21/15.

We rented a condo for the week in downtown Reykjavik off of airbnb.com. It was much nicer than staying in a hotel! We were just around the corner from the funky Hallgrímskirkja (Lutheran church).
