Ed, Sara and I arrived in Ouagadougou in the middle of the night, with no visas and little French. Luckily Elizabeth was able to breeze her way back through security to straighten everything out for us. Early in the morning we caught a bus out to her village. It only took us halfway so we had to rent motorbikes to go the rest of the way. Unfortunately when we were out in the middle of nowhere two ended up breaking down on us. Last comment 07/17/22.

It was so hot!! We had to hitch rides into town separately. Sara was first and then Ed. When I got there Sara was nowhere to be seen and Ed was approaching heat stroke and mostly non-responsive. I was hot, beat, broke, and I couldn't speak French. After making three laps around the village searching for Sara, I did what and good boyfriend would do and fell asleep next to L'Ed at the side of the main road. :-) Last comment 01/06/17.

Unfortunately Elizabeth came by soon and was so rude as to wake us from our slumber. ;-) She hadn't seen Sara either!! We went back to Elizabeth's house and found Sara there surrounded by a crowd of village children, all coloring away with the pens and paper she gave them. mmmMMMmmm a baggy of water never tasted so good!! Some of Elizabeth's friends from the Pea.ce Co.rps came by to hang out with us on Elizabeth's patio. Last comment 08/13/20.

Some of the children in the village came by to sing and dance for us that night. Elizabeth says that they choreograph a new show for her almost every night! Last comment 07/16/22.

Elizabeth took us to meet the chief of the village. He was very kind to us and said that we could stay as long as we wanted. He even put on his special cloak and posed with us for a picture. Last comment 04/19/22.

Elizabeth and I pose in front of her house. After a couple of great days in Elizabeth's village, we were ready to head back to town on our newly fixed motorbikes. We were off to tour the countryside!

Of course the motorbikes broke down on us not ten minutes outside of the village. But this time we had a great mechanic who was able to get the motorbikes running better than they were when we rented them. Last comment 07/16/22.
