One of the coolest side benefits of kayaking was that it got us up close to the penguins as they leaped out of the water to and fro.

This afternoon we landed at Whaler's Bay, an abandoned whaling site. Last comment 04/19/22.

These buildings were used for whale oil processing starting in 1906. After advances in ship technology and the drop in prices during the Great Depression, this site was abandoned in 1931 and was never reoccupied.
