From Weinheim we took a train to Luxembourg City. The old city is surrounded on all sides by cliffs, making it historically an easy city to defend. Last comment 04/19/22.

Under the old city there is a system of caves called the Bock Casemates, originally dug out in the 18th century. They have had many uses over the years, including as a bomb shelter during WWI and WWII. Last comment 04/19/22.

The Breedewee Restaurant claims that the view from their terrace is the best in all of Luxembourg. We didn't get up to the terrace because it was closed, however, here is the view from the street level. Last comment 01/06/17.

From Luxembourg City we traveled on to Brussels, Belgium. We stayed in the Hotel Saint Michel, the only hotel in Brussel's famous square, the Grand Place. Here is the view from the window of our hotel room. Last comment 04/19/22.

Another look at the square. These gothic style buildings are guildhalls built in the 15th century by the various merchant guilds. Last comment 11/23/20.

One thing about Brussels - it would start to sprinkle suddenly and randomly. Sometimes I felt like I was the only one getting wet! Last comment 04/19/22.
