We made our way back down south to Krakow, the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. It has a beautiful old town square which was bustling with the warmth of people and activity.

Six times in Europe we used Couchsurfing.org to put us in touch with locals who were friendly and adventurous enough to put Ed and I up on their couch for a night.

Our plan for the next few days was to slow down a bit from all of the driving and sightsee a bit more. Our first destination was Slovakia. Here Ed caught me trying to get the perfect photo, his turned out better than mine.

The scenery in the Slovakian countryside was stunning, and the roads were in great condition. We made good time and arrived in Bratislava that evening.

This is the view from the spaceship atop the tower on the bridge. Here we met up with a couchsurfer named Lulu, who was a fantastic host and was gracious enough to offer her place for an additional night when our other plans didn't come through.

Using Lulu's house as a base, we drove over to Austria to see Vienna for the day. There happened to be a film festival going on when we arrived.

I knew I had a Bodega somewhere, I had just forgotten where it was!

I was very excited to find a store which was dedicated to selling Lapis Lazuli, I've developed a fascination for the beauty and the history of the stone.
